I listened to a man speak from his heart last night and I simultaneously realized how sad it is that I find that to be a rarity. Too few people are capable of doing such a thing and those people are the cream of the crop. The solid backbone of our species that can bridge the gap between mind and mouth with such incredible honesty. In looking around in a time of need I also happened to find an unlikely ally in someone who's perspective has become increasingly refreshing and I'm starting to regret neglecting it for as long as I did. In old news, some people need to grow up. My self included, there are some old dogs that can't be taught new tricks... even if only for someone else's sake...but hey at least I can say I tried...what's your excuse? I have a really good feeling about recent decisions and that feels better then you know.

It's times like these that make you live your life more efficiently. Remember that.

It's 5:15 in the goddamn morning and I can hear the morning commute from my bedroom window. I don't know why I'm awake...I just am. Been sleeping less and less these days, but for different reasons then some of my less recent insomnia. Life has settled down and things aren't necessarily looking up, but at least they aren't looking down. This newly acquired normality can only be the product of time and because of that I refuse to attribute it's existence to anything else. I am surrounded by smiles from all angles and I can't help but join in. Life's about the ups and downs, the shitty lessons and the useless humans that teach them to you. So I haven't sat inside of a movie theater in about 4 months. And the last movie I saw was such a disappointment that I made a point to not see anything with the potential to suck. This movie, thankfully, did not suck. Score one for me. I can't tell if the lack of suck was a product of the entirely proportional comedy or the whiskey in my 6 dollar beverage but who gives a fuck? It had me laughing, smiling, and cringing in all the right spots. Not to mention its the first movie where you don't feel like a tool for thinking Kristen Stewart is damn hot...

The use of Lou Reed as a consistent (and lonely) reminder of the proposed time period was both pleasant and overwhelming to an extent but hey, again, who gives a fuck? They didn't set out to be overly comedic or grossly nostalgic. They made a movie about something that happened, that was fun to watch...not too over the top and damn far away from being sub par. Which is an accomplishment in itself. I did however leave asking : "where have all the grungy, accidentally attractive girls gone?" Really though? where?

Centered and close to the ground. It's been a long time since I've honestly felt like myself and I think I can safely say without hesitation that I feel more like me then I've ever felt. My brain is in the right place even if my heart is trailing behind slowly, but steadily. The past few months have been filled with old friends, new friends, and new experiences. I traded in a few habits for a few more inches of progress and i couldn't be happier about that. Been working a lot, but that's not a complaint. I love what I do and don't think I will really be happy doing anything else...people spend their lives searching for passion. It's just my luck that mine found me.
It's a new year, and this one counts. No more letting life happen to me...I'm going for the gold.

I'm a soft spoken man with too much to say. I've found it more efficient to show someone something then try and explain it. This was my year. These are my favorite memories. They may not mean much to you, but they mean the world to me.

Ok so i decided i was going to write about every day of tour....but the lack of internet totally fucked that up for me.

SO this is the last blog about tour. It's thursday now, and i've been home for like 4 days. Buffalo was a great time. As was pittsburgh. The venue in buffalo was awesome, i had a great time...and their lights made my life easy.

Ok so I know that there is a 3 day gap between the last post and this one. But i haven't really had a decent internet connection...and I'm not going to lie, i've been pretty fucking lazy. But now i have a minute, and a connection, and so I will provide a brief update to my existence.

It's 12:16 in the afternoon and I'm sitting in the waiting room of an emergency room in Atlanta. We decided to try and gun the drive to michigan and somewhere around 400 miles in we switched drivers. Meaning Sean and I, seeing as we're the only ones who do that. About an hour later Ken told me he wanted to go to a doctor because of his throat (which has been bothering him for the past few days...and is literally his instrument.) So here we are. Chillin the only way we know how to, MADD HARD, in the ER.

We're weighing out all of our options so i don't know what we're going to end up doing, but i do know this : We're fucking Lady Raditor. We have the power of Rock N Roll on our side. We will prevail.

I will fill in the gap in days hopefully when we get to where we're going. Unless we end up sitting here for a long time, at which point i will suck it up and walk to the van and get my camera. Who knows? Because i don't.

Today there was a tornado in the town we played in. It's 3:49 in the morning and I'm sitting here with the snake at a Flying J waiting to leave for florida. This is what we currently look like :

Tonight was relatively uneventful...aside from the obvious weather issue. I didn't even take too many photos today, but the ones i did are in the van and it's raining and i definitely dont feel like walking out there in the rain. Later i will upload them. They are mostly of Mouse-Puppy anyways. More about Mouse-Puppy to come. Promise.

We got into Wilmington, NC at around 9 am.

I woke up there. Crossed the street and got attacked by the tiniest cactus i've ever seen.

Needless to say we couldn't think of anything to do. so we got forties (and whiskey) and went to the beach.
Observed some barnacles.

Me and the snake made a pit stop at kinkos and made flyers. Which we attacked the beach, local mall, and UNCW with. Those are them in his hand. It payed off though, it was a great time. Definitely the most fun show thus far. I passed out and woke up the next morning in South Carolina.

Everyone's packing up and loading the vans. But I'm taking advantage of this internet access while i have the chance. Tonight was a good show, not too many kids, but hey its fucking tuesday.

I am starting to get really annoyed with all of the humans who like to call themselves "the sound guy" when all they do is push buttons. I feel like some of them are about as useful as an angry monkey. Except at least an angry monkey thinks he has a reason to throw fecal matter.

We're staying at the home of a 2nd grade teacher tonight. Hmmm.

I wonder if I'm going to get sick of watching Redlight and Jetlag because thus far i haven't...and if you know anything about me...you know how fickle my pretension can make me. Time will tell. I however must depart, we are apparently all ready to go and everyone's waiting on me...... go figure.

Woke up in North Carolina, a pleasant surprise.

We had today off, so we decided to have a good time. I was drunk, and passed out by noon. Woke up and Partied harder.

Some awesome dudes let us stay with them and they knew what was up. We had a great time, and we might have actually had TOO good of a time. If that is even possible. Sean got a hair cut, so now he looks like less of a dad. Met a cute puppy, it made me miss beau.

The fore-fathers of this village must have been on the greener side of the hill to name a place SHAMOKIN. None-the-less, it's hard not to have a good time when you're on our with a bunch of stand-up humans. Even if you're playing in a venue that doesn't have a bathroom, or running water and everything...literally EVERYTHING in the So entire town is closed due to it being a sunday. Shit happens, you deal with it. Hence we took it upon ourselves to convert the alleys and stairwells of this quaint town into public restrooms for our use.

Good show, Good kids. Fun Times.

Had no place to stay so sean decided to drive all night to North Carolina.

Been an extremely intense week. Hectic as all hell, but what else is new?

Played maxwell's on wednesday, which is always a pleasure. This was no exception. I added a bunch of picture's to my flickr of Mahoney's View. Sick band, fuckin' chill dudes. It was fun to play close to home again.

Tonight we played in a basement, which i wasn't as enthusiastic about as i should have been due to the extremely stressful process of trying to take care of all my last minute shenanigans prior to my departure tomorrow. It was full of me being cranky. This was the only picture worth posting from tonight.
I leave for tour in the morning, I can't explain to you how little i want to care about. How much i am looking forward to not having to worry about anything aside from when, and where i get to bang on drums, and then relax in an foreign environment. I have to leave without my favorite hoodie which is not even slightly cool. I have to finish packing now, so I'm going to go and do that. And dwell on some broken promises that I'm getting less inclined to miss by the day.

In all seriousness, where the fuck did 2007 go? It feels like it was last new years 3 hours ago. I just got the beast, he wasn't beast-like yet, he looked more like a groundhog or something. He took a shit on my kitchen table. Since that faithful kitchen table turd so much has happened, and so little has changed. I had some of the hardest times, dealing with back to back deaths, dealing with relation issues, and the frustration caused by my choice of musical outlet was far from minimal. On the other hand, there were millions of laughs, and great times. Some of my fondest memories reside in this calendar block. My birthday this year was great, i've had the best time of my life playing music with 3 of my best friends. 2008 will be a year for accomplishment. Solving problems, jumping hurdles, taking over the world. I've said it a million times, but this year I'm done with my fly-fishing approach to existing. Throwing myself far out of reach for inches of progress. One step at a time. One decision at a time. On day at a time. I have no solid new years resolution. All i want for myself this year, is to be ahead of myself this time next year...in a better place.

So in an attempt to save money for tour, I made a conscience decision to not drive into the city as much and to take public transportation instead. Tonight was the first time I went into the city since this decision was made and low and behold the municipality of hoboken new jersey towed my fucking car. Regardless of the fact that it was definitely my fault, this fucking sucks. But, for some reason I don't care. Tonight was pleasant. But tomorrow morning is going to fucking suck.

On a side note, we played with TREOS and AS TALL AS LIONS on sunday and all i have to say... is FUCK MAN. I had a great time, for the first time in ages i felt great after our set and didn't want to curl up and die. As Tall As Lions was one of the best band's i've ever watched and were so much fun to shoot... they love what they do. Played The Internet Cafe in Red Bank on wednesday with A Love Like Pi, and The Mongoloids. It was a great time as usual, i love that place. But in all seriousness, why the fuck is A Love Like Pi so fucking sick. They never fail to impress me. Sick musicians, even sicker dudes, anyone who has not listened to them needs to do so immediately (if you know what's good for you).

Well, last night my luck rubbed off on sean resulting in this :

You cant really see it, BUT if you look to the left of the EZ PASS holder you can see where my head cracked the windshield...me and Sean always have head-butt battles to see which one of us has a harder head. Last night, I won indefinitely.

Then Triple A kept me on hold for 45 minutes until my phone died...then another 20 until jess' phone died as well. Then we were just stuck in the snow...carless, phoneless, tired, AND FUCKING FREEZING. To top it off the tow truck that eventually came to our aid forgot to put his fucking truck in park and almost fucking hit me.

My luck never fails. It runs in circles around me at record speeds. Things in my life tend to stay circular. It never fails.

If i was a beverage, I'd be coke. That way Jack Daniels would be my soulmate. Last night I went to AK for Rob Hitt's B-Day celebration, it was a good time. Left after a while to go to LIT, stopped at papaya (obviously), and then found out that Steph's car got towed (or so we thought). So then began the ordeal of figuring out how to get her, Steve, and Brynn home... which led to me not going to LIT and driving to River Edge at 4:30 AM. Tedious as it was, I'm never one to turn down an opportunity to help out a friend in need. To top it off I found out this morning that when she called the impound lot this morning they actually didn't have her car...which by process of elimination could mean :

a. She just forgot where she parked.
b. The ever so efficient NYPD failed to update their database in a timely manor
c. Some cock sucker decided that grand theft auto was a good time.

Sadly I think it has boiled down to option C.

It amazes me how bad some people's luck can be... especially when it's worse then mine. That is quite the rarity.

In othernews...seeing as nikon decided to keep my flash for over a month...i got an on camera flash diffuser....it actually works kinda well....but obviously still sucks a lot., i hate on camera flash. I also messed around with some lights in my make-shift studio thingy....check it.

so today i found out that not only did kanye wests mother die, but it was probably a result of plastic surgery. Not only is this extremely sad, but also disturbing. When are people going to learn to be happy with who they are and what they were born with. Why would you want someone elses face when you can have your own?

I went to see them for the first time (which is weird) the other night with snake and jessica. i haven't been to a show i wasn't playing in a really long time. it was quite nice. as was the whiskey that resided in my tummy on that night.

So i never dress up for halloween but i decided to this year. The plan was to be a vampire but obviously my teeth broke so from that point on i was meat-loaf. Lauren came out, finally, and unless she's lying to me she had a good time (which makes me happy). On a side note, i don't understand why never give up on some things that are clearly pointless yet i fuel flames that should be beaten and extinguished. I think i am entitled to be selfish for a few minutes every once in a while.

It's slightly amusing how i can eplain to everyone their flaws in eplicit detail yet i'm blind to my own.

I have run myself down quite successfully. I would like to say it has been pleasant. But truthfully, it has been no such thing.

Never cared less about haloween and that saddens me. But seeing others as stoked as they are about it makes it better. I hope everyone enjoys their holiday.
